about us

Did You Hear produces salon-style concerts in private homes, backyards and other unexpected locales, featuring bands and musicians from a variety of backgrounds and genres.

The brainchild of producer and curator Yeji Cha-Beach, Did You Hear offers a unique way to experience music, with performances so intimate the musicians can hear the audience listening.

Balún + Thomas the DJ

Afield and Did You Hear are thrilled to present their first outdoor edition of the Seedless Variety series with a special double bill evening featuring Brooklyn-based tropical electronic band, Balún, and a dance party set with Thomas the DJ.

Timo Andres

Grammy-nominated composer and pianist Timo Andres takes the minimalism of John Adams and Philip Glass as the starting point for his electric musical language. 2024 highlights include solo performances at Carnegie Hall and NPR's Tiny Desk, a new premier for the Los Angeles Philharmonic, a new album on Nonesuch, and arrangements for Justin Peck/Sufjan Steven's Illinoise at the Park Avenue Armory.

Ringdown

Collaborators Caroline Shaw and Danni Lee—who between the two of them have a Pulitzer Prize, a handful of Grammys, and a "Best Drum Major" Award—describe Ringdown as an electronic cinematic pop duo from Portland, Oregon. Others have described Ringdown as the love child of Johannes Brahms and Brandi Carlile—if they were born in the same century and if Brahms was a queer woman. You decide.

meet the producer

I'm Yeji (rhymes with edgy!) founder, producer and curator of Did You Hear.

In my decade+ of producing music at NBC's Late Night with Seth Meyers, I've worked with an incredible range of artists including Aretha Franklin, James Blake, Audrey Nuna, Wilco, and boygenius, to name just a few.

Before Late Night, I honed my production, operation and communications skills at performing arts organizations like the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) and at Carnegie Hall. Before deciding to work behind the scenes (and screens), I trained as a classical violinist and used to have some impressive calluses on my fingers.

When not listening to, talking about, and presenting music, I love training for marathons & triathlons and exploring the world with my husband, two young kiddos and our dog, Parsley.
